The Qualified Engineering Team
Our engineers work across the full tech stack allowing us to stay nimble as we innovate and iterate to build an impactful product and business. We’re a small powerhouse team, with lots of exciting things to build and big plans to grow. We love building cool things, solving hard problems and making a big impact on the success of our customers and our own company. We’re looking for engineers with an interest in building and scaling platforms and tools, who are comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces.
Our technology
Qualified is a modern web app with a React UI interfacing over GraphQL, REST, and WebSockets with a Ruby on Rails backend. The data and messaging layers are built on PostgreSQL and Redis. Experience with these specific technologies would be awesome but not required.
Our service is business-critical for our customers. Security, reliability, and performance are paramount in everything we do.

- You love building things, solving complex technical problems and making a real-world impact above all.

- You have proven experience working with backend programming languages and familiarity with SQL and databases, and data warehousing solutions.
- You have experience in leading large-scale projects while guiding and mentoring other developers.
- You are adept at evaluating new technologies and introducing new subsystems as the footprint and complexity of our product grows.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in backend software development
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
- Strong software engineering practices (e.g. coding, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
- Strong debugging skills
